With the left-rear tyre blown, and steam shooting out the hood of the car just like a cracked skull, being too far gone to even think of turning back now - and with 50 miles signposted until the next town - they packed their things and they began to walk.
Under a blistering heat, upon tired, blistered feet, the young punks lugged trunks toward the thin line of the horizon. Eyes all cried; no words left to say what sang in both their hearts. The silence sounded just like the sweetest of the sad songs.
